If you asked me 30 years ago what I wanted as a career I would have said "artist".
Twenty years ago the answer would be "journalist".
Ten years ago- "teacher blogger".
5 years ago- "MomTog".
The crazy thing is- I've actually had a career that allowed me to be an artist, one that allowed me to write, and several that (still) let me teach.
For a long time this creative unrest unnerved me and all I wanted was to BE NORMAL. To choose one career and be content.
But each of these creative endeavors led me to recognize my passion for creating art while preserving your life's legacy.
It's a career that I find life-giving and I am constantly inspired by the stories of my clients and humbled by the opportunity to turn your moments into photographs and heirloom albums that will one day be held tenderly in the hands of your children and grandchildren.
Kate is a very talented photographer. She knows how to find the perfect spot, the best angle, and captures amazing light in every photo. She does amazing work with family photos and helps everyone (even those of us who are awkward) feel and look natural in pictures. We use Kate every year and always end up with so many great pictures.
Kate, volunteered her talent for a fundraiser for our nonprofit. She captured the emotions and feel of our whole process. She is fantastic to work with, reliable and aims to please the customer! Thanks Kate
Kate has been photographing my family for several years now and we enjoy every second of our sessions! She is so involved with making the experience absolutely perfect! She works so well with children and will capture all those precious on the move shots! We have all built such a relationship with one another to when we have sessions they are more like family visits. Kate takes pride in her work. She is very professional, high quality photos and returns pictures very quick! Her clients are a priority and it shows! We love you Kate! Thank you for giving us such wonderful, priceless mementoes through your God given talents!
If there is one thing I've learned from being behind (and occasionally in front of) the camera it is this: relationships matter.
Obviously, your family's relationship is the focus of our session, but a great working relationship between your family and me (your photographer) is integral to a successful experience.
You deserve portraits filled with authentic, joyful smiles (actually, I prefer laughter- but ya know!) and the best way to do that is by being friends! I like to take some time early on to get to know you through a short e-mail survey and a complimentary consultation to dream up your perfect session.
My purpose is to serve you well from consultation to ordering appointment.
Because of this here are a few things you can expect from me:
1. Prior to your session I will provide you with detailed information about outfits, locations, and timing of sessions to ensure you are getting exactly what you dreamed of.
2. When I photograph your family I take great care to create portraits I would want for my own family albums and wall art. This means angles are flattering and smiles are authentic.
3. Only good surprises! From the beginning I am clear about the price of sessions and packages, and the contents of your package. (But don't be surprised if a few goodies show up along the way.)
Your portraits have a greater purpose than corrupting on a memory stick or disappearing in a devastating computer crash.
Studio Kate believes in creating museum-quality heirloom art from your portraits to showcase in your home for years to come.
